Live Life Without Dead Time
Live Life Without Dead Time
I employ field recordings, tape loops, prepared guitar, found sounds, and musique concrète techniques to create decaying soundscapes and immersive drones. Through a complex process of studio & physical manipulation, my compositions meld the genres of ambient, avant-garde, pop, classical, and electronic music
My work is about discovering the notes between the notes, the sound inside of other sounds. I explore themes of nature, chance, fate, time, consciousness and impermanence using aleatory practices in composition, performance and editing. I draw artistic inspiration from the writings of Dōgen Zenji, the poetry of John Cage and the enveloping natural beauty of New York State's Hudson Valley.
I want what I think every artist wants
I want a revolution
I want to reestablish art as central
to our shared existence
I want to reorient it in love & compassion
I want to make art as precious
as air or water
I want it to free the world
